Biography
Usually seen smiling, Maria is one of the main characters of the series. Two years ago during the events of 428: Fūsa Sareta Shibuya de, she was mistakenly abducted by Daisuke Endo, who mistook her for her sister, Hitomi, who has bombay blood type. Alphard hired Daisuke on purpose to kidnap Maria and and she would later infect Maria with the Ua virus so that her father and head virologist at Okoshi Pharmaceuticals, Kenji Osawa, would go into the laboratory where the anti viral is stored and cure Maria. This would give Alphard the opportunity to destroy the Okoshi Pharmaceutical lab while also taking Hitomi’s blood with the antiviral in it at a different point in time, so that Alphard has a monopoly over the antiviral. While her life was saved thanks to her father's anti-virus, the trauma she endured during the Shibuya incident made her suffer amnesia. As a result, she can't remember certain events during that incident; including not having met Alphard Alshua before. Prior to the Shibuya incident, she befriended Canaan after being saved from hoodlums during a trip somewhere in the Middle East. As her dream is to become a photographer, she became the partner of Minoru Minorikawa before the pair's assignment in Shanghai and her subsequent reuniting with Canaan.
Appearance
Maria has long blond hair and golden eyes. In the begining of the anime, she is seen wearing an outfit the consist of a white shirt with a black tanktop underneath, a brown choker, black shorts, a brown necklace, and black and brown combat boots. She usually carries a camera and sometimes has a backpack with her.
Relationships
With Canaan
Canaan and Maria have a very close relationship. Maria met Canaan when she saved her from muggers, and became friends when she showed Canaan how to make a Cat's Cradle of the Eiffel Tower.
